Frequently Asked Questions:

What are your bags made of?

The majority of our handmade tote bags and purse designs are made from 100% cotton material that is pre-shrunk.  We also use 100% cotton batting.  The interior of our handles are woven nylon webbing covered with 100% cotton fabric.  All of our bags are lined with a polyester fusible interfacing.  Threads used in our bags are a cotton poly blend, embroidery threads are either polyester or rayon.  Ribbons, Beads, and other embellishments may vary in material origin.

Are the bags washable?

Yes, these one of a kind handbags are washable!  Most bags can be washed by machine, but are recommended to be laid flat to dry.  In certain bags there is either a cardboard insert covered in fabric or an acrylic insert covered in fabric--these should be removed before washing.   We recommend you use gentle detergents that are phosphate free such as ALL Free, Dreft, Synthrapol, or similar.

Where do you find your fabrics?

We patronize all sorts of businesses to find our fabrics.  We visit quilt shops all over the country, as well as online businesses, and some stores like Jo-anns Fabrics, Beverly's, Hancock Fabrics, and Mangelsen's.  We prefer to patronize as many small businesses as we can to support our fellow entrepreneurs.

Do you sell your fabrics?

No, not at present.  Eventually when our BeachComber Quilts and Fabrics shop becomes a reality, we will become a full service quilt shop and plan to sell our fabrics via our storefront and online.

Do we take custom orders?

Do you offer returns?

For defects in workmanship, we do offer exchanges.  We do not offer straight returns on custom handmade purses/handbags, or other custom-made items.

What goes into the pricing on your items?

Pricing our items is actually quite difficult.  We want to provide an affordable product, but we do also have to meet our expenses so that we can continue to work within the community.  We include the cost of the materials, interfacing, handle materials, threads, and some labor cost.  Shipping is paid by the purchasers.  All of our items are made here in the United States in our home workshop.  We do not outsource any of our work or designs.
